Week 2 Day 2

It was certainly a dreary day! While we were able to get outside in between spurts of rain, most of the day was spent indoors. The kids brought their pillows and blankets to hunker down for some movies, but we made sure to do silent reading and some crafts. Today we made silly putty that came out as more slime than putty, but the kids were pretty satisfied with the end result, which is what really matters! 🙂

Week 2 Day 1

Today was a definitely a Monday (in the best way)! The kids came back from the weekend with a ton of energy, and while we did spend a good chunk of time outside, they also dedicated a lot of energy into painting and coloring today. For some reason, today's obsession was Flex Tape (see my homemade Flex Tape coloring pages below. . .), but it was such a blessing to see them laughing and having fun! Tomorrow is looking like it's going to be pretty wet, so we might have to hunker down, do some reading, and maybe watch some movies!

End of Week 1!

Wow! It is hard to believe that our first week of Summer Camp is already over! It has been such a blast spending time with your kids this week! Today, we managed to get outside in the morning while it was still relatively nice out for some 4 Square and Bobcat Ball. For the rest of the day, the kids enjoyed doing beads, coloring, and playing games together like "The Animal Game" and Pictionary. We also took some time today to experiment with homemade Puffy Paint, and I hope to post pictures of their work next week after all of the globs of paint dry this weekend and they put on the finishing touches 🙂 Can't wait for next week!

Week 1 Day 4

Although it was a hot one, we managed to spend some time outside today playing (you guessed it!) more kickball and Bobcat Ball. Inside we made sure to take some time for silent reading and also tried a new "science" experiment of sorts! At the bottom right, you can see some of the kids mixing together glue and cornstarch to make our homemade bouncy balls. Although they weren't as bouncy (or as ball. . .) as we had hoped, they were still fun to make! It's hard to believe that Week 1 is almost over already!

Week 1 Day 3

Today was yet another fun day full of Kickball and outside play. Today was what the kids deemed "the Championship game" of the 5 game series between the boys and the girls, and the boys ended up taking the crown. It was fun watching them compete over the last couple of days! We also played a lot of Bobcat Ball and some catch outside while resting in the shade. Inside, we did more independent activities like coloring, beads, and of course, drawing on the White Board 🙂

Week 1 Day 2

We had another great day today at Summer Camp! We spent a good chunk of time outside while it wasn't too hot and we played a lot of Kickball and Bobcat Ball. While inside, the kids took the opportunity to be creative and created the masterpiece shown below. Unfortunately, I failed to take many pictures today because of how active we were outside, but hopefully their artistic creation makes up for it! I will plan on taking more pictures tomorrow!

Week 1 Day 1

We had a great first day of Summer Camp! It was so good to have the kids in the classroom. We spent some time doing beads and other independent activities. We also had a Connect 4 "Tournament" (Congrats Abby!) and played Pictionary as a class. Not pictured includes our game of Kickball, playing some group games, and lots of cleaning 🙂 With such a small class, we are having fun being flexible with our plans!
