End of Camp!

The last couple of days of Summer Camp were spent playing games indoors to avoid the rain, and helping around the school when it wasn't raining! The kids have such great servant hearts and thoroughly enjoyed helping clean out some classrooms and pack up our Summer Camp supplies. Although Summer Camp 2020 is over and half of the kids won't be returning next summer, I look forward to seeing how they all succeed in the future!

Week 6 Day 3

What a blast! Kona Ice came today as a special treat, and the kids really enjoyed the cold snack. Because it was pretty hot, we spent some time getting energy out through some active videos and helping clean out some junk before the new school year! In preparation for the end of Summer Camp, the kids enjoyed making slime to help use up our supplies.

Week 6 Day 2

Today, we spent some time trying some new things, as well as of course enjoying some classics! Inside, we watched some fun videos that helped get some energy out while staying cool. When we did brave the heat, we enjoyed playing Four Square and Bobcat Ball!

Week 6 Day 1

Our last week is off to a fun start! Despite the rain, we were able to get outside in the afternoon to play some Four Square on the blacktop where it wasn't too wet. Inside, we did our silent reading, played Pictionary, and watched a movie!

End of Week 5!

Another fun week is in the books! Today we spent a lot of time outside and enjoyed the cloud cover when it was there to keep us cool 🙂 We played some new games today and it amazes me that there are still things that we haven’t tried yet! Can’t wait for one last week!

Week 5 Day 4

With an extra small class today, the kids enjoyed being able to be flexible and help build the schedule today! We played a lot of games inside, like Pictionary and some other card games. Outside, we enjoyed Three Square and playing on the playground. Of course, the highlight of the day was making slime!

Week 5 Day 3

We once again enjoyed being able to get outside multiple times today and play all of our favorite games. Although the clouds looked like they were bringing rain, we managed to stay dry today 🙂 Ball Tag once again was a favorite, but the kids also enjoyed taking a break in the shade. See if you can spot our resident camouflage expert!

Week 5 Day 2

Today we tried some fun new indoor activities like playing Jeopardy, as well as some classics like making slime. Outside, we did a little bit of everything - Kickball, Bobcat Ball, Ball Tag, AND Four Square! I don’t know how these kids have so much energy!

Week 5 Day 1

Happy Monday! Avoiding the wet morning, we spent some time being active in the Classroom with some GoNoodle active videos and dancing. The kids had a lot more fun than I was expecting, and really got into it! They weren't too bad either! The rest of the day, we managed to get outside once the heat dried up everything and the rain held off!

End of Week 4

While we did get outside a couple of times, a good chunk of the day was spent inside hiding from the heat 🙂 In the classroom, we tried some new group games and played with slime and colored. The kids had a great time learning some games that are definitely keepers for the future 🙂 Hard to believe there are only a couple of weeks left!

Week 4 Day 4

Happy Thursday! Today we enjoyed trying some new activities, both inside and outside. This morning we did a Tic-Tac-Toe Relay, which the kids really enjoyed. It was fun playing a game outside with a little strategy for a change. In the afternoon, we made some "Oobleck" with cornstarch and water, which the kids really had fun with!

Week 4 Day 3

It was such a nice day and we took advantage of it! Although it was overcast for most of the day, we enjoyed the nice temperature the day provided. We played a LOT of Four Square today and even managed to get outside for our silent reading today!

Week 4 Day 2

The kids had fun dressing up for Sports day! We started our day off when it was cool with some Bobcat Ball and Four Square, and then we moved inside for Scattergories, Pictionary, and free choice time.

Week 4 Day 1

Happy Monday! It was good to be back in the classroom with the kids today. We had fun playing some group games, including "Fishbowl," a cross between Taboo and Charades. Of course we got outside for Ball Tag and Four Square! Another great week is underway!

End of Week 3!

What a great end to the first half of Summer Camp! Today we added in some crafts to our normal mix of games and experimented with Plastic Bag Art! The kids had a lot of fun trying something new. In the afternoon, we also made some Slime and, of course, played Uno! Once again, I am blessed to be able to spend time with these kids!

Week 3 Day 4

These kids have an incredible amount of energy! Today we got outside a couple of times, but mostly stayed inside to avoid the heat. Inside, the kids did beads, colored, and played a couple of different card games.
